I did Aimee’s portraits a few months back in City Park, so I included them here as well. As for the wedding day, I met up with Aimee at the Roosevelt Hotel, and shot a bit of her getting ready, some portraits, and some portraits of Justin in the lobby with his gentlemen. We headed to St. Georges for a long but lovely ceremony, and then the police escorted us to the Tea Room. There was much dancing, drinking, eating, and fun to be had at the reception...Mojeaux was the awesome band that played on stage, and near the end of the reception, the Hot 8 Brass Band showed up and led a great second line - here are some pics:

I climbed Mt. Baker, in Washington near the Canadian border on July 15-17...Gorgeous mountain and my first solo summit ascent on a glaciated peak. From there, it was back down to the Bay Area, just north of San Francisco, where the cycling is unbelievably difficult due to the mountains, but also unbelievably beautiful. But, I digress. Just before I left, I shot Becky and Scott’s fun wedding. I met up with Scott at the Omni Royal, (my weekend home away from home, considering how many weddings I’ve shot there) and we did some portraits of him and the boys in the Quarter, then it was back to Becky. We went up on the rooftop and did some portraits, and then lounged at the pool a bit for some more shots. The ceremony and reception went smoothly as always, thanks to Celeste, the Omni Royal’s excellent coordinator. Here are some pics.
The ceremony was at St. Francis of Assisi, and the reception was at the New Orleans Country Club. I went to Darby’s house in Lakeview (I think the last time I was on the street was when I was sweating like a madman as I ran by in the final leg of Ironman 70.3 New Orleans in April - I’m pretty sure the course went right by this house....but I digress). The ladies were all in matching robes for a few shots, then I shot some portraits of Darby and her bridesmaids and some of just Darby. We headed over to the church, and then to the Country Club. On the way, one of the police escorts was a bit overzealous and yelled at me to move to the back of the entourage instead of being behind the limo. When I asked why, he got really mad and yelled “because I said so”. Ok.
There was a ton of dancing, great food, and music provided by the Bucktown All Stars. A fun night!
We had a party at the hacienda we were staying at, and Holly and her sister, Becky, stopped by. We all had a lot of fun (and too much tequila) that night. Fast forward to 2009, when I was shooting the Tour de France in Paris, and Holly and I exchanged a few emails and she booked me for her Cape Cod wedding. Unfortunately, it rained pretty much the entire wedding day, so all of the great beach photos I had envisioned were not meant to be. Despite the weather, the wedding was really beautiful and we did manage to get a few outdoor shots in the back yard of the Captain Linnell House in Orleans, MA. Holly’s dad sang a song to the bride and groom during the reception and after the toasts, they danced their butts off. A great weekend in New England!

I LOVE it when the DJ is from the local R&B station here in New Orleans. He plays the greatest old soul, steppers stuff, and hip-hop. It’s hard for me to keep the camera in my hands and not just go out and dance with everyone else!
I met up with Ashley at the Monteleone and shot her getting ready, then a few portraits in the room and then more in the lobby. We headed over to a Baptist Church near Claiborne and Louisiana for the ceremony, and, if memory serves, Ashley walked down the aisle to a Stevie tune (my fave). From there it was a limo over to the Pavillion of the Two Sisters in City Park, always a lovely venue.....and then the dancing started...and then the dancing continued...and then the dancing finally ended and I went home. Here are the pics:
